PMI Expatriate Mail Services was founded in 1987 by a human resources professional who recognized the need to help expatriates, relieve HR of mail issues, and solve the corporate mailroom international mail challenges. PMI currently provides mail and package benefit to over one hundred Fortune 500 companies.

PMI provides a unique resource for effectively handling both corporate and personal expatriate mail and merchandise packages. Surveys consistently show that expatriates place great value on PMI’s caring, confidential, timely and dependable mail and package forwarding service. Many expatriates feel that this service is a key component of a successful overseas assignment. PMI’s mail service is a constant link to home and family throughout the duration of the overseas assignment. PMI will “follow” the assignee to transient business addresses and home leave, providing uninterrupted mail delivery. PMI also mails to family members at other addresses (colleges, U.S. addresses), as instructed. PMI’s staff is available to assist clients by telephone, fax and e-mail in a helpful, informed and courteous manner.

History

Personal Mail International, Inc. was the idea of a human resources professional, who envisioned the expatriate mail forwarding service as an adjunct to the human resource function. PMI’s name and reputation has become synonymous for quality, service, and personal attention which continue to drive the company to stand tall and distinguish itself from all others.

Founded in 1987 in Mendham, New Jersey, PMI is a woman-owned company which began as a part-time venture, providing corporate and individual clients a way to assure that mail would be carefully, confidentially, securely and promptly forwarded to expatriates and their families. PMI began with four clients, providing services from a home office, and has since provided service for over 13,000 expatriates and families. PMI currently provides service to expatriates in some 70 different countries, processing thousands of mail pieces each week.

Mendham was settled in the 1700’s, a picturesque small town where residents enjoy rolling hills and a small town atmosphere in Northern New Jersey, 40 miles west of New York City. We can’t say much about Mendham because it’s the best kept secret around. We will tell you it is said that when George Washington tore his britches at the Black Horse Inn, his Sergeant at Arms said, “Don’t worry, we’ll mend’em.”

Mendham [pronounced Mend em], population of 10,000+, is the hometown USA address for PMI clients from 40+ states who are now located in over 70 countries.

Mendham has the reputation of a prestigious address and ranks in the top 1 percent of New Jersey and national schools.
